Heroin addiction rates are on the rise in the United States. More and more younger people are becoming addicted to heroin. Sarah Jacoby, a contributor writer for Refinery29, wrote an article about a young addict who lost her life to addiction.
Summer Myers, was a heroin addict and died at the age of 25. In the video, Myers' mother explains her daughters addiction and how it completely changed their lives. Myers is just one example of the rising problem in the United States. The Center of Disease Control and Prevention, said that the rate in overdose deaths has tripled in 3 years and quadrupled since 2000. Drug addiction and recovery is in need of more attention.
