Tips for Dating Someone With Depression

Depression is not only hard for the person who suffers from it, but it is also hard for the people who love them. Listening to someone you love and admire, talk about themselves negatively can be so hard to hear. You know how amazing someone is, and they just don't see themselves how you see them. When dating someone who has depression, it is important to educate yourself about the disease. Here are some tips for dating someone with depression:

  1. Create or maintain balance
  2. Learn how to support your partner in their suffering 
  3. Focus on the positives 
  4. Be compassionate with your partner 
  5. Communicate with your partner using new language
